Meal Plans

Commuter Meal Plan

Commuter meal plans are voluntary and can be purchased by students living off-campus, commuter students, or students who don’t have a dining hall in their residence and wish to dine at New College or Chestnut Dining Halls. Commuter Meal Plans are helpful for students who may spend a large portion of their time on campus and want to eat between classes.

Commuter meal plans are declining balance meal plans. This means that your residence dollars are loaded onto your TCard at the beginning of the year, and, as with a debit account, residence dollars in your meal plan account are deducted when you make your food purchases. You’ll have the freedom to choose the items you’d like to eat from a variety of locations across campus allowing you to be able to fully utilize your plan by deciding how and when to you use your plan as it suits you.

All plans come with TBucks** which can be used to buy taxable pre-packaged food items like bags of chips and candy bars. TBucks can also be used for textbooks or for printing and photocopying on campus. All plans allow you to purchase food and beverage items from the Chestnut Dining Hall, New College Dining Hall and select U of T Food Services retail outlets across campus.

How to Access Chestnut & New College Dining Halls

The Chelsea Hotel Meal Plan

The Chelsea Hotel will offer two optional meal programs for which you need to register.

Once the form is submitted you will receive an email from Chelsea Hotel, Toronto titled “Student Meal Plan Payment Options” which will have a secure link to submit plan payments.

We suggest all plans are selected prior to Tuesday August 24th to ensure they are processed prior to your arrival. Failure to register by this date may result in delayed access to meal plan funds (approx. 48 hours or two business days).

Meal Plan #1: Single Plan

Suggested for the student looking to enjoy one meal per day at the hotel.

$1695 per semester

Meal Plan #2: Flexible Plan

The Chelsea Hotel meal program will be a declining balance account placed onto the student’s room account with the hotel (not on ACORN) which the student can spend against over the course of the semester.
