All residents who have not applied to stay at Knox Residence for the 2023 Summer term, are expected to move out by April 30, 2023.
Report your move out date
Deadline: April 24, 2023
During the move-out period at the end of the academic year, there will be a form to share your move out date/time and to request to use the elevator and cart.
Complete this form by Monday April, 24, 2023 to notify the Knox Residence Life team of your move out date and time. This will allow the team to understand how to best support you with your move out process and for you to note if you will need to use the elevator and/or a cart. Please note that use of carts is subject to availability and those who complete the form will be given priority for elevator and cart use.
If there are any changes to your move out date after you complete the form, please complete the form again with your new move out date.
Need to extend your stay?

The end of the 2022 – 2023 Fall/Winter contract period is April 30, 2023. All residents who have not applied to stay at Knox Residence for the 2023 Summer term, are expected to vacate their room by 11:59 PM on April 30, 2023.
If you are planning to stay any duration after the end of your contract date (e.g., after 11:59 PM on April 30, 2023), please submit your request via email to the Knox Residence Office: info.knoxresidence@utoronto.ca by April 24, 2023. Requests received after this date will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Please note that charges will apply to your ACORN account to reflect your extended stay at Knox Residence.
Students who have already made arrangements to stay over the summer DO NOT need to extend their date with the Residence Office as this will be updated in the system if/when your summer reservation is confirmed.

KEY COLLECTION
Please drop your keys in the key collection mailbox (in the mail area, near the St George entrance) to complete your check out.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- Your check out will not be complete until your key is returned.
- Those who move out without returning their key will incur a $50 charge to their ACORN account.
- If you have not checked out of your room and removed your belongings by 11:59 PM on April 30, 2023, your ACORN account will be charged to reflect your extended stay at Knox Residence
DAMAGE DEPOSIT
- Upon departure, if your room is in a disordered state and/or you have not completely emptied it of your belongings, garbage and/or recycling, and/or there is damage to the room contents belonging to Knox Residence including window blinds/curtains your damage deposit of $300.00 will not be refunded.
Move out preparation checklist
Plan your move
ELEVATOR USE
The elevator is only available for moving between 5PM and 10 PM on weekday and 10AM – 10PM on weekends when the Don is on duty. Please complete this form to note your move out date and when you would like to use the elevator.
The Don on Duty will not be able to help residents move their belongings. Residents using the elevator during their move out will have access to the elevator only for a limited amount of time.
CARTS
To borrow a cart, you must provide the Don or another member of the Knox Residence Life team with your student ID until it is returned. Please note that health cards and passports will not be accepted as ID.
PREPARE YOUR ROOM
Please close all windows, take out garbage, turn off fan, shut off light, and close your room door.
KEY COLLECTION
Return your key to Key Collection Mailbox (in the mail area, near the St George entrance).
A $50 charge will be applied on ACORN for those do not return their keys.
STORAGE
Please note that the storage room at Knox Residence will only be available for those living at Knox Residence for Summer 2023.
Those interested in storing their belongings are encouraged to make arrangements with storage services.
QUIET HOURS
To ensure a supportive environment for the Knox Residence community, residents are required to abide by the 24-hour quiet hours that are in effect during the exam period.

Directions to Knox Residence
Knox Residence is located at 59 George St., Toronto.
If travelling to Knox Residence via TTC or GO bus, your final destination will be St. George Station or Queen’s Park Station.
If travelling by air, transportation from Pearson International Airport also includes the Union-Pearson (UP) Express.
