We have a dedicated team of in house maintenance staff that are here to help support the needs of students in their physical spaces. Maintenance requests can be submitted at any time on the Chestnut Residence Maintenance Portal, and will be addressed in order of priority.
For an immediate maintenance emergency students can contact the front desk in order to request service.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the Chestnut building on the University of Toronto network.
To better assist, when contacting ResNet via email at resnet.chestnut@utoronto.ca or telephone at 416.585.3182, residents are encouraged to leave their name, room number, call back number and nature of the issue. ResNet will respond back at their first availability.
Residents at Chestnut are permitted to have up to 4 guests at a time. This policy is subject to change at anytime.
Guest Registration
To register a guest on StarRez, please complete the following steps:
All resident mail and packages will be delivered to and stored at the Front Desk.
Residents will receive an email notification when their item is ready for pick up.
Bike storage is available for residents at Chestnut, located in the lower level.
To access the bike storage room, visit the Front Desk to request access to be addd to your keycard.
Don-on-Duty
The underground parking garage at Chestnut Residence offers daily and monthly rates. Security staff patrol the garage on a regular basis. There is elevator access from all garage levels to the main lobby. The entrance to the parking garage is located on the North-West corner of the building, on the East side of Chestnut Street.
The University of Toronto TravelSafer program Is a free service offered by the University of Toronto Campus Safety. A Building Patroller or Special Constable will escort you to and from any location on campus and abutting TTC stations for added peace of mind.
TravelSafer is available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Call any time to arrange for patrollers to come to your location during service hours. It is also possible to arrange for regular walks with the same pick-up location and time each week.
